Olympics Youthweb

About the Project
With this Euro-meeting we brought together young, motivated people to exchange ideas, opinions and experiences and through this, to create something that will be “alive” forever.

We invited young people all over Europe to take part to our youth exchange. In this way the whole Europe was involved in this meeting. The countries who participated were: Greece, Italy, Romania, Spain, France, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, England, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Most of the people were from 16 to 25 years. In all we had 55 young people working together with our Olympic project.

Into an artistic atmosphere, we got the chance to meet different cultures and to promote the Olympic Spirit, Sports and Youth. The basic idea was to create a Youth European Web-site through theoretical and practical exchange of knowledge from the youngsters and give them the opportunity to be involved in something so important nowadays and to give them a chance to express themselves. All together we wanted to enrich our neighbourhood, our country and Europe general by creating this small but open-minded web site. The main subject of the youth exchange was the Olympic Games that will took place in Athens in 2004.

The participants wrote interviews and took photos from the local people, exchanged ideas and opinions, informed them about the Olympic Games, and all together to take part in this worldwide event.

All the youngsters were involved in the workshops. English was the “working” language. The participants were responsible for the graphics, the pictures, the texts, the interviews etc.

There were three workshops: One for the technical material, one photo-group and one for the written documents.

We also made some cultural activities and visited important places like Acropolis, Olympic Stadium, Plaka etc.
