Amicus

AMICUS was a volunteering initiative funded by the European Union, aiming to stimulate the argument at a European basis on the meaning of the Civil Service identifying the values which are placed in the civil Service around different countries. To define the role that it covers in every Country and, through the appearance of the results, to individualize the values and the role that the civil Service has in the Union in terms of participation to the creation of a citizenship and a founded European Nation founded on solidarity, peace, the intercultural dialogue, safeguarding the values of the single experiences. The notion of its “Native land” and defences on which the Italian national civil Service is based on has suffered an increase of its territorial borders not only from a doctrine point of view, but also from the Laws of the Constitutional Court. From a geopolitical point of view the globalization has traced the new territorial borders, widening them beyond those national ones, giving the possibility to young European people to lend Service also in other Countries of Europe and South of the World. Projecting these “new borders” of the notion of Native land within Europe, it is possible to individualize in common lived people the architrave on which to found an European nation for the future. The people as a group of pertaining individuals since birth, origin and tradition to various Countries can share in a determined historical period the same experiences that determine the lived collective municipality to all and it allows to pass from the consideration of a State to that of Nation. Consequently, the Civil Service assumes the tools in order to favour the ties between the various actors who are part of the community belongings of the volunteer and in the transnational case the acceptance community joins.
In this optical a model of cut on the forms of those of the single countries is directly lived from the young people and could represent the tools in order to facilitate and accelerate the sharing of the “European collective” and therefore the creation of the Europe Nation.
Specific objective:
The various degree of maturity of civil Service in the two groups of countries concurs to identify, analyze, compare and, therefore to stimulate, the creation of the Europe nation and the European citizenship with a bottom – up approach, that is from the bottom. The main actors of this process are the AMICUS volunteers, that living directly with other young people in Service and with the acceptance communities, they learn in a not formal way and they experience the founding values of the civil Service in a transnational dimension that acts as multiplayer for their own belongings of collectivises and, ideally increases the borders, for the European collectively.
The methodology that is meant to apply is territorial search-animation that in the specific one is put into effect in the accomplishment of activity 3 consisting in the shipment of 21 volunteers, three for Country, with the aim to live, observe and learn making the civil Service carried out from the young people residents in the acceptance country.
