Taking part -as assistant teachers- in the educational procedure, also realizing environmental, cultural and sport activities at a Primary school or Kindergarten or a Day Nursery of the Island. Volunteers will be assisting the permanent staff of all the cooperating institutions, the trainers at the sport activities, the organizers of the Cultural, Environmental and Educational Events etc.
Our volunteers’ tasks may include the following:
-Assist on the workload of the educational institution when needed.
-Help in the preparation of the classrooms.
-Assist during English, mathematics or gymnastics lesson.
-Do presentations (about their country, culture or an other subject relevant with the activities of our organization).
-Assist in classroom if needed in case that a student has the need of special attention due to being hyperactive or having issues with focusing.
-Help to organize and operate the school library.
-Help on the preparation and realization of a theatrical or a celebration.
-Painting walls with beautiful images with educational theme inside or outside in the school yard, painting educational games on the ground of the school yard, do some painting on doors or furniture or refresh the faded painted games on the ground.
-Help in making handcrafts at home or on site used for lessons or for decorating classes or for special events/celebrations.
-Assist the educational institution to take part in an e-twinning project (with the guidance of the H/O and the institution’s director).
-During breaks at school, watching over the young students or play with them some games that have educational character as well as helping in reminding them to keep the necessary measures against Covid-19 (social distancing, frequent hand washing, use of sanitizing liquid and hand wipes, use of protective mask, etc.).
-Help on the maintenance of the school’s garden.
-Take part in the schools excursions and help the teachers keep the students safe as well as take pictures to commemorate the event.
-Create commemorative video, if asked by the educational institution, celebrating the graduation of the final grade of primary school featuring photos of the events and daily life throughout all their school years which will be given to all the students.
