Our Activities

The volunteers participating in our projects, help, on a non-profit and non-formal learning basis teachers, young people and children, including the refugee and special needs children who study in local educational institutions, participate in the realization of environmental awareness projects and community development activities and offer an important helping hand to various institutions of the island such as the Elderly Nursing Home and institutions supporting people in poverty, people with fewer opportunities & youngsters from a marginalized community or at risk of facing discrimination.
All our project’s activities help both the volunteers & the local community to extend the world in which they live & to gain theoretical and practical knowledge, which will be very useful in their future integration into the labor market & in the creation of better prospects for their future as well as embrace the values of solidarity, respect for human dignity and human rights, and believe in the promotion of a fair and equal society in which pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality prevail.
At the same time, they will have the opportunity to improve their skills in foreign languages, their knowledge about Environmental Awareness, European Society, Social Inclusion, Multiculturalism, European Citizenship and by extension, will eradicate discrimination and Xenophobia.
The project provides a way of non-formal and cooperative learning for the volunteer which will increase his/her aim of self development and self-empowerment.
For achieving all the above, each of our volunteering projects includes almost all of the following activities, depending on the capacity of the volunteer & the needs of the local community:

Needs as well as refugee and emigrant children attending there.
  2. Community Development Activities which cover a wide variety of tasks in different areas within Chios Island such as
educational environmental workshops within schools and public places, painting and recycling activities and workshops,
team games that encourage environmental awareness and non-formal learning on various different levels for both the
volunteers and the youngsters of the local community.
  3. Taking active part in the creation and presentation of all kinds of broadcasting on our Organization’s ESC Radio Station
